SUMMARY OF RESULTS

THE BEGINNINGS OF THE COLLABORATION

For several years now, flat roof pioneer alwitra has been providing its customers with an individual online product configurator.
Thanks to the configurator, architects and specialist planners have access to individually defined data that can be imported precisely into numerous CAD systems.

In early 2016, KiM developed a product configurator for the Rhineland-Palatinate innovation leader for flat roof systems. Using CADClick® technology, the company from Trier provides architects and planners with BIM-compatible data for digital construction. Every product available from alwitra can be configured precisely to individual use and construction requirements through the configurator and then downloaded as a CAD model and a 3D PDF datasheet.

SHAPING THE FUTURE OF DIGITAL CONSTRUCTION TOGETHER

Thanks to the intuitive user interface, the product configurator is quick and easy to use. Individually assembled, specialist planners and architects receive all relevant digital information in just a few steps. The configuration is based on manufacturer specifications and applicable regulations. Invalid combinations are automatically corrected through plausibility checks, and only validated configurations can be created.

The advantage of CADClick® technology is that the components only need to be modeled once and enriched with attributes. They are transferred to the customer’s CAD and BIM systems via export or direct insertion drivers. In addition to the numerous standard output formats and CAD direct insertion drivers, users also have access to Revit® plug-ins and the IFC export format.

In the password-protected area, which is only available to registered users, a rule-compliant roof construction can be assembled in just three steps using the roof construction configurator. The glue navigator suggests relevant adhesive combinations for the flat roof project with just a few basic inputs. With CADClick®, quick and automated generation and provision of planning data are guaranteed. Generated are 3D geometries, 2D planning drawings, and descriptive attributes for BIM systems.

The goal is to provide architects and planners with individually configurable digital information and offer them suitable solutions on the path to the digital future of construction.
