CUSTOMER: Tortec
INDUSTRY: Manufacturer of fire protection and smoke protection sliding doors
PROJECT: Automated dimensioned drawing generation; Integration into existing configurator
SOLUTIONS: Generation of dimensioned drawings
TECHNOLOGIES: CADClick®
In 2020, we received a request from the plant for the automated generation of dimensioned drawings for quotations. The configuration of fire protection doors was to continue using the existing product configurator and quotation system.
With our CADClick® technology, models are controlled via predefined parameters to deliver the desired dimensioned drawings. Data creation is handled by Tortec itself, and our team trained their employees accordingly.
We began with a proof of concept, followed by regular meetings to support the creation of 2D/3D model data and ensure guided project execution. Tortec employees successfully tackled the complex tasks with great commitment. The created models already serve as the basis for future 3D visualization and BIM output.
After about a year of implementation and subsequent internal testing, the automated dimensioned drawing generation was presented at the “BAU” trade fair in April 2023. The official go-live in the Hörmann quotation and order system took place following the “BAU” fair. We appreciate the positive feedback on the integration of CADClick®-based dimensioned drawings.
The implementation at Tortec demonstrates how CADClick® integrates into existing configurator systems and digital processes, extending them with 2D/3D CAD and BIM data.
