AT A GLANCE

CUSTOMER: SIEMENS
INDUSTRY: Industry, energy management, healthcare
PROJECT: 3WA 3D configurator for open circuit breakers
SOLUTIONS: 3D visualization, product configuration, creation of parametric CAD models
TECHNOLOGIES: CADClick®, 3PQ® CONFIGURATION

RESULT IN BRIEF

THE CHALLENGE

The complexity of the product posed a challenge during implementation, as the circuit-breaker contains a large number of variants (7335 basic devices / 700 accessories). The requirement: The basic devices and accessories should be both selectable and exportable for the user in the product configurator. We were also responsible for creating the data for the components when implementing the 3-Configurator.

THE SOLUTION

Due to the complexity of the development of the 3WA 3D configurator, the close cooperation between SIEMENS and our team was a considerable advantage. Our customer provided the product logic and knowledge base for the development. We transferred the latter to the product configuration and CAD modeling via interfaces. In addition to the 3D visualization accompanying the configuration, we implemented the operating concept for the 3WA configurator and, as mentioned above, created the parametric CAD models using CADClick®. Following configuration, all common export formats and dimensional drawings are automatically provided.

THE 3WA CONFIGURATOR – ALSO MOBILE-READY

When developing the operating concept, care was taken to ensure that the user always has a complete overview of their configuration. In addition, despite the complexity of the product, operation is guaranteed without restrictions on a smartphone “Mobile First”.
